Celebrating the New Year

We took a 10-hr night coach to reach Brinchang (the town), and made our way to EQ resort in the
morning. It was a 4-star resort and we've booked an apartment which allowed us to have a scenic view of the lush greenery from the balcony. Apart from a bedroom, there was a living room and a small pantry. We took a nap upon check-in and packed lunch from the restaurant in order make use of the living room to eat and watch tv.

We took a trip back to town to the strawberry and cactus farms. The strawberries were grown in hydroponics and the plucking season was not due yet. I was disappointed as I thought I could pluck my own strawberrys to eat. There was a wide variety of plants and vegetables and Love was simply delighted to see so many Bonsai. It sometimes wonders me...why he loves plants and flowers so much..

As the sun began to set, we found one of the many steamboat "restaurant" and settled our dinner. It was so crowded everywhere; families sitting around the tables eating, chatting and laughing away...which makes me nostalgic about the past.. The steamboat was not buffet style and the soup wasn't as fanstastic..yet crowds kept streaming in..perhaps, that's just one delicacy you'd never wanna miss in this 19-degree highlands.

The night market nearby sells a lot of strawberries,
snacks and

other goodies. We bought some food for supper and amongst that being my favourite was the fried prawns...a big pack at only RM5.. Love did not fancy it that much..so I had the whole big packet to myself..for 2 nights! ( we went back on the 3rd day )

SP resort was our accomodation for the following 2 nights. It was an old Victorian
style resort located further away from town. We took some time to check in and settled down and I brought Love to another smaller town, Tanah Rata, for lunch. For my past 2 trips, my family and I had been staying in this town , thus I was more familiar. I led the way to the Jungle Walk where the Robinson Falls thrives.

The trail seemed endless. By the time we turned back, it was about 4.30pm. Since there was nothing else to see and too early for dinner, we packed Chicken rice from the Indian stall we had lunch earlier. When we were on our way back, we realised that we got "hecked" by the dishonest Indians...I bought some vegetables to go along with our rice when he told me it was RM2. But the boss told me it was RM3...which was pretty expensive. We were pretty angry.. but thankfully the food turned out to be good.

We booked a half-day trip for our 3rd day to the tea plantation, tea factory, highest point in cameron highlands, mossy forest and to see the natives. The tea plantation was pretty spectacular and the mossy forest was very muddy... the rest of the programs aren't very appealling. We spent our last evening having a light dinner in order to buy more food from the night market.

This trip is a pretty much relaxing one as we had ample time to rest and relax other than the horrendous bus ride and the weight I'd put on.. it's a good break for the long year ahead.

An Occupied and Meaningful Year

So much for 1 year... Time to recap and reflect again.. What have I acheived so far? A lovely companion, a better job, a well-travelled and less-troubled year... Managed to travel every quarter; Phuket in March, Sabah in June, Bali in September and Cameron Highlands in December.

But not all's well for me this year... health's not good... so many ailments arriving one after another, departing only after another arrives... vision deteriorates a little, frequent headaches for months, not enough sleep, sore gums, falls, flu, fever, sore throat with blood , cough that lasted for months , gastritis that lasted for weeks... seen the doctor so many times this year...
Lesser time with friends is also something I need to catch up again...

Had been grateful for how much I've come so far... without my family and friends, none of me would have happened. Wanted very much to express my thanks to the people who have comforted me all these years..when I had a sorrowful heart... or troubled mind... To each and everyone of you who has been keeping up with my blogs and motivated me to keep this on.
THANK YOU.

It's funny how some people reacted when I thanked them yesterday together with my NY greetings... Guys, especially... were a bit surprised.. and one of them even asked me lots of questions why I thanked him blah blah blah... Well, I always believe that we should express ourselves when there's a chance and let the person know how much you appreciate him/her and not leaving this world with regrets. There a bits and pieces of memories of how each individual plays a part in my life...
